Team Info
»» GENERAL:
--This team seeks committed dedicated players who wish to play at the highest level possible. This team is coached by Dylan Curtis, a licensed non-parent coach. He has a great deal of experience at the club level. He took a boys team from U12 in South Carolina and won a State Cup at U15 with the team. Coach Curtis’ other profession is as a teacher at Lansdowne High School. He brings a skill set and understanding of young men to the field.
-- Team Plans and Player Obligations:
-- July – November: The team will train 2x a week. Practices are mandatory during this time (vacations and other events excepted). The team will compete in 3-4 tournaments during this time, as well as weekend league play. The team will compete in the 2010 Maryland State Cup (held in the fall)
-- December – February: The team will practice 1x a week and play indoor soccer and/or futsal (not necessarily concurrently). Practice attendance is flexible, but we expect players to make the majority of sessions.
-- March – May: Spring practice attendance is much more flexible than the fall season as some players participate in other spring activities, but players should be able to attend one a week. The team will practice 2 times a week, participate in Sunday league play, as well as play in 2 tournaments.»» PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY::
The goal of our team is to develop players who will always love the game and who will have maximized their playing potential-- be it at the club level, high school, college, or beyond. There is a consistent focus on technical skills while increasing the focus on tactics as the players mature.»»TOURNAMENT/GAME GUIDELINES::
A. Be 1 hour to 45 minutes early to the matches (Friday may be difficult for
some but the other days we must be ready). The goal is to be getting
mentally and physically ready at 30 minutes prior to kickoff. I also do
understand traffic happens (me included) but lets shoot for our 45 minutes
ahead of time.
B. Gatorade before and after matches but limit during the matches
C. Water during the matches
D. Bagel or trail mix, oatmeal bar etc...to eat right after the match
E. Have all gear (both kits, shin guards, cleats, flip-flops and soccer
balls)
F. NO fast-food before or during the tournaments weekend (or the night before or day of league games)
G. Carbs would be great to eat for dinner the night before any league or tournament game
H. Be mentally focused for the matches»» THANKS GO OUT TO OUR SPONSORS
